Wiper Blades

Clear Advantage
for every season

We fit Bosch Clear Advantage wiper blades — a beam-style all-weather blade built to clear rain, sleet and snow without the exposed frame that traditional blades fight with. Ask us about your vehicle at your next visit.

The Basics

What wiper blades actually do

A wiper blade is a rubber squeegee held against the windshield by spring pressure. The job is simple but constant: clear water, slush, salt spray and road film so you can see the road, the lane markings and whatever is in front of you.

Rubber ages in the sun and in the cold. Most blades start losing their edge somewhere between six and twelve months, and the usual warning is not a noise — it is a smear you only notice in the rain at night.

Signs it is time to replace

  • Streaking or smearing the glass instead of clearing it
  • Chattering, skipping, or juddering across the windshield
  • Unwiped patches left between the arcs of the blades
  • Cracked, split, or hardened rubber edges
  • Blades lifting at highway speed
Compare

Regular blades vs. all-weather blades

The difference is the frame. Conventional blades use a hinged metal frame; all-weather beam blades use one continuous curved beam. On a modern curved windshield — and in a Massachusetts winter — that matters.

Standard Design

Regular / Conventional

A rubber blade held by an articulated metal frame with several brackets and pressure points. Common, affordable, and still sold on most vehicles.

  • Metal frame with multiple joints and brackets
  • Even pressure across flat glass, but less on curved windshields
  • Exposed frame rails can collect snow, ice, and slush
  • Widely available and inexpensive to replace
  • Usually quiet when new, noisier as the frame loosens

Winter-Ready Design

All-Weather / Beam

One continuous spring-steel beam inside a rubber cover, with no exposed frame. Built to keep contact with curved glass and shrug off winter build-up.

  • Continuous beam distributes pressure evenly across the glass
  • Covered design resists ice and snow packing into the frame
  • Holds contact on curved, heavily raked windshields
  • Quieter at speed and less prone to wind lift
  • Costs more than a basic conventional blade

Not every conventional blade is built the same, and beam blades vary in quality too. The comparison above describes the two general designs, not a verdict on any one part number.

The Brand We Fit

Bosch Clear Advantage

A heavy-duty beam blade from Bosch, designed around all-weather performance. Three details do most of the work:

Patented beam design

A continuous beam replaces the exposed metal frame, so there are no joints for ice and snow to pack into. That keeps the blade flexible and clearing in all-weather conditions.

Graphite-treated edge

The wiping edge is graphite treated to reduce friction, which quiets the blade and gives a smooth, even wipe in every season — not just the first few weeks.

Click-On adapter

Bosch’s Click-On adapter system makes installation straightforward on the vehicles it fits, so blades can be swapped quickly at your next visit.
