Red
Low Brake Fluid
Brake fluid is below the safe level in the reservoir.
This light indicates that the level of brake fluid in your master cylinder reservoir has dropped below the minimum requirement. It is a critical warning as your brake system relies on this fluid to apply pressure to your brakes and bring your vehicle to a stop.
What to do
- 01Find a safe place to pull over and turn off the engine immediately.
- 02Do not continue driving the vehicle due to the risk of total brake failure.
- 03Call a tow truck to transport your vehicle to our shop in Walpole for a professional inspection.
Other common causes
Common causes include worn brake pads that have caused the fluid level to drop, a leaky brake line, or a faulty sensor in the fluid reservoir.
How we check it
Our technicians will perform a visual inspection for leaks and measure the thickness of your brake pads and rotors.
Symbols vary by make and model — always confirm in your owner's manual. If the light is red, the car feels different, or the light is blinking, stop and call us before driving further.
