Diesel Glow Plug
The diesel pre-heat cycle is running or has faulted.
This light indicates that your diesel engine's glow plugs are heating up to assist with cold starting. It should turn off automatically once the engine is ready to start, but if it stays on or flashes, it signals a fault in the preheating system.
What to do
- 01Wait for the light to turn off before attempting to start your engine.
- 02Observe if the light remains illuminated or flashes after the engine is running.
- 03Schedule an appointment at Miles Tech Auto if the light persists or if you notice hard starting in cold weather.
Other common causes
A faulty glow plug control module, a blown fuse, or a failed engine temperature sensor can also trigger this warning.
How we check it
We perform a resistance test on the glow plugs and scan the vehicle computer for specific fault codes to pinpoint the source of the issue.
Symbols vary by make and model — always confirm in your owner's manual. If the light is red, the car feels different, or the light is blinking, stop and call us before driving further.
