Parking Sensor Fault

A parking aid sensor is dirty, blocked, or failed.

Service soon

The parking sensor fault light indicates that the system responsible for detecting objects near your bumpers is malfunctioning. This means the automatic alerts or proximity displays you rely on while parking may not be working correctly.

What to do

  1. 01Check your front and rear bumpers for mud, ice, or debris covering the sensors and gently clean them.
  2. 02Verify that the parking sensor system is switched to the on position via your dashboard or center console menu.
  3. 03Practice caution when parking, as your vehicle will no longer provide audible or visual warnings for nearby obstacles.
  4. 04Schedule an appointment with us at Miles Tech Auto so we can perform a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the fault.

Other common causes

A damaged sensor, a blown fuse, a broken wiring harness, or an internal fault in the control module.

How we check it

We use our diagnostic computer to isolate which specific sensor or wiring segment is reporting a fault.

Symbols vary by make and model — always confirm in your owner's manual. If the light is red, the car feels different, or the light is blinking, stop and call us before driving further.
