Yellow or Orange
Sensor Blocked
Dirt, snow, or debris is covering a driver-assist sensor.
This symbol means your vehicle's safety sensors, such as the radar or camera used for driver assistance features, are obstructed. It indicates that the system cannot see the road clearly and will likely disable functions like adaptive cruise control or automatic emergency braking.
What to do
- 01Check the front grille, bumpers, and windshield near the rearview mirror for dirt, ice, or snow.
- 02Gently wipe the sensor areas with a soft, clean cloth to remove debris.
- 03If the light stays on after cleaning, avoid relying on driver-assist systems while driving.
- 04Schedule an appointment with our shop to have the system inspected and recalibrated.
Other common causes
Heavy rain, fog, or snow can temporarily block sensors, or there may be a genuine hardware fault or misalignment due to a minor impact.
How we check it
We perform a diagnostic scan to check for fault codes and test the alignment and function of the sensor arrays.
Symbols vary by make and model — always confirm in your owner's manual. If the light is red, the car feels different, or the light is blinking, stop and call us before driving further.
