Yellow or Orange
Snow / Winter Mode
A low-grip driving mode is selected.
This indicator shows that your vehicle has adjusted its transmission and throttle response to help maintain traction on slippery surfaces. It usually appears when you have intentionally toggled this feature on via a button or menu.
What to do
- 01Check your center console or dashboard buttons for a switch labeled Snow or a snowflake icon.
- 02Press the button again to see if the light turns off.
- 03Consult your owner manual to see if this mode is intended for use only on specific road conditions.
Other common causes
A faulty transmission range sensor, a malfunction in the electronic throttle control system, or a communication error within the vehicle computer network.
How we check it
We perform a diagnostic scan to check for active transmission or traction control fault codes.
Symbols vary by make and model — always confirm in your owner's manual. If the light is red, the car feels different, or the light is blinking, stop and call us before driving further.
